FRUIT – MELON MINNESOTA MIDGET
Cucumis melo
Small vines & fruits about a third of the size of a regular Rockmelon, beautiful & sweet. Fruits average 300g. Plant Spring-Summer. A vigorous bushy plant rather than a running vine. The fruit has a deliciously balanced flavor, they are 10-12cm round with deep orange flesh. Suitable for one person, one meal & rarely found on supermarket shelves. Edible to the rind & disease resistant. Compact & early maturing. Ideal for the home garden, this variety does well growing in tubs.
Sow 12mm (1/2 inch) deep with 2-3 seeds in a group and later thin out. Sow either direct in harvesting position or in seed boxes or punnets and plant them out when strong enough.
