Carota Sativa
CARROT-ROYAL CHANTENAY is perfect for heavier soils and containers! The small, conical roots of Carrot Royal Chantenay have broad shoulders & strong foliage making them easier to pull when harvesting. This short carrot can be sown successionally for an ongoing harvest of delicious, almost coreless roots. They store extremely well. Chantenay Carrots are short, blunt & thick & were developed in the Chantenay area of France. This carrot will get to be between 13 & 20 cm long, not huge in terms of size, but it makes up for size with flavor. This is one of the sweetest carrots and I am sure you will think the same. This cultivar was introduced in 1952 by the Northrup King Seed Company.

More About Direct Compost Solutions
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn't suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden.
