HOW TO GROW COSMOS-SEA SHELLS MIX Cosmos-Sea Shells Mix is a cultivar of the flowering plant Cosmos bipinnatus, a popular annual bedding plant, known for its small, delicate and intricately shaped flowers that resemble sea shells. They are usually white or pink in colour, and bloom throughout the summer. To grow Cosmos Sea Shells flowers, you will need to follow these general steps:
  1. Cosmos prefers full sun and well-draining soil.
  2. Sow Cosmos Sea Shells seeds directly in the garden after the last frost date in your area.
  3. Provide proper care of your Cosmos by regular watering  and fertilisation for them to thrive.  The best time to water your plants is when the soil is dry to the touch.  Fertilise them every 2-3 weeks with a balanced fertiliser.
  4. Pest such as aphids, whiteflies and spider mites, and diseases such as powdery mildew and blight need monitoring to prevent infestation of your plant. Use organic pest control methods if possible.
  5. Prune your plants as needed to maintain their shape and promote healthy growth. Pinch back the tips of the stems to encourage bushier growth.
  6. In colder climates, Cosmos Sea Shells may not survive the winter. Consider planting them as annuals or covering them with a thick layer of mulch to protect them from the cold.
Cosmos Sea Shells is generally considered an annual plant that will provide beautiful, delicate and intricately shaped flowers throughout the summer with proper care and maintenance. More About Direct Compost Solutions

When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.

Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn't suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden.
