Tropaeolum majus
FLOWER-NASTURTIUM-ALASKA MIX is favored for its highly ornamental leaves, which are an unusual marbled green and white in color. The leaves in themselves produce a very attractive plant - add to this the vivid multicolored blooms and an unforgettable sight is produced. Seldom over 20 cm with a neat compact semi-trailing habit, is it one of the most foolproof & versatile of all summer flowering annuals. Unlike some nasturtiums, Alaska carries blooms above its foliage.
Sow outdoors where they are to flower and the ground is workable. Thin out young plants when the seedlings are large enough to handle. They flower most freely in full sun and poor dryish soils.

More About Direct Compost Solutions
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn't suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden.
