LEEK-CARENTAN This old heritage variety is originally from France & dates back to at least 1885 it is now quite rare & sometimes difficult to find. The leaves are large, flat & broad with Blue –Green coloring a tender white base and a delicate mild delicious flavour which is ideal for eating raw in salads. It grows vigorously, adapts to most soils & yields very well. It has been around since well before 1885. Does well even in freezing conditions. 95 – 100 days from transplant. An excellent contribution to the vegetable garden.

More About Us
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
