Lactuca sativa
LETTUCE-OAKLEAF-DARWIN is an oak leaf lettuce that does well in both heat & cold. It produces green, tender, oak-shaped leaves which resists turning bitter very well, & it provides a terrific cut & comes again harvest. Compact & quick-growing; harvest good-sized plants in six weeks. A compact, slow bolting variety with green deeply lobed leaves.
Sow in cooler months of Autumn in warm climates and Spring in colder climates. Sow at two weekly intervals for a continuous supply if climate is cool enough. Keep watered & weed free. Pick the leaves when they are young for the best flavor.

More About Us
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
