Cucurbita moschata
PUMPKIN-WALTHAM BUTTERNUT is the standard for home gardeners, with rich, dry, pale orange flesh and a distinct, nutty flavor. Vigorous vines produce 4 or 5 smooth, tan, 1-3kg fruits per plant. Good keeper. 100 days from transplant. The undisputed king of all, packed with hordes of beneficial vitamins & nutrients. The plant will yield 4 to 5 fruit per plant. This one is a must for both the novice and expert veggie gardener! When ripe, it turns increasingly deep orange and becomes sweeter and richer. It grows on a vine.
Sow directly in desired growing position. Prefers good, well-drained soil. Keep moist & well watered once flowers appear & during the growing period.

More About Us
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
