Lycopersicon esculentum
TOMATO-ROMA has a firm sweet flesh with an excellent taste. Its high dry matter content makes it a good variety for canning & making concentrate. Tomato’s that are partially green will ripen if left at room temperature. With their dense & meaty flesh & low moisture content, they are the ideal tomatoes for processing into sauces & pastes. These tomatoes have a cylindrical or plum shape, & feel heavy for their size.
Sow in a good mix of soil and lightly cover – keep moist but not wet. To transplant, plant deeper, up to the 1st set of true leaves, this increases rooting & speeds maturity. keep fertilized & evenly watered.

More About Us
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
