Lycopersicon esculentum
TOMATO-ROUGE DE MARMANDE (Red of Marmande in France where it was developed) is an old-fashioned variety first introduced in 1925. It is a vigorous, disease resistant, an indeterminate bush variety that is highly regarded for an exceptional fruit that can set in cool conditions. Bears a plentiful early to a mid-season crop of large bright red deeply oblate (flat fruit often with ridges) with an excellent flavor.

Sow in a good mix of soil and lightly cover – keep moist but not wet.  To transplant, plant deeper, up to the 1st set of true leaves, this increases rooting & speeds maturity. keep fertilized & evenly watered.

More About Us

When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.

Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used.   However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
