Six Soil Conditions You Can Measure

Soil Fertility (EC Measurement)

This Measures the level of soluble nutrients available in the compost or soil so you can monitor soil health and fertility levels.

Soil Moisture

Know exactly how moist your compost or worm farm is. Avoid overwatering or letting the contents become too dry.

Soil pH Level

pH affects how well plants absorb nutrients. The tester helps you determine whether your compost or soil is acidic, neutral or alkaline.

Soil Temperature

Temperature plays an important role in composting, whether you are cold composting or hot composting.

If you use worms or soldier flies in your Eco-Eze Compot Composter, this is a quick way to monitor internal conditions.

Sunlight Intensity

Helps determine whether your composter or garden is receiving the right amount of sunlight, depending on the composting or gardening method you use.

Air Humidity

Humidity mainly affects plant growth, but it can also influence how quickly compost dries or retains moisture.

Perfect for Many Composting Applications

The 6-in-1 soil probe is suitable for a wide range of uses including:

• Monitoring compost moisture
• Checking compost temperature
• Testing finished compost before planting
• Improving garden soil health
• Preparing soil before planting
• General gardening use

It is especially useful for gardeners who want to better understand how their compost piles, worm farms or garden soil are performing.

Monitoring Compost and Soil Improvement

This tester is particularly useful for checking moisture and temperature levels inside compost systems, helping gardeners understand how compost is breaking down and when it is ready to improve garden soil.

For gardeners using systems such as the Eco-Eze Compot, monitoring moisture and temperature can provide useful insights into how well the composting process is working.

Generally speaking, Compots do not require monitoring – they are designed to work naturally.  However, for those who enjoy seeing the details of what is happening inside their compost systems, this tester provides fascinating information.

I personally love comparing the soil inside an Eco-Eze Compot with the surrounding garden soil.

And if you have ever wondered whether the pH inside your Compot is ideal for your garden, the 6-in-1 Digital Soil Tester gives you an instant answer.

How to Use the 6-in-1 Digital Soil Tester

Using the tester is simple:

  1. Turn the power button on

  2. Insert the probe into your Compot, compost pile or garden soil

  3. Press the Measure button

  4. Read the results on the digital display

The clear screen makes readings easy to see and helps keep your hands clean.

After use, simply wipe the probe clean with a soft cloth or grass clippings (grass is usually soft and will not damage the probe).

A Helpful Tool for Composters and Gardeners

Whether you are composting simply to dispose of kitchen waste or composting to grow vegetables, herbs, flowers or indoor plants, understanding your compost conditions can make a significant difference to plant health and productivity.

The 6-in-1 Digital Soil Tester provides quick, convenient information so you can make better composting and gardening decisions and create the best possible environment for your plants.

Understanding Your Soil Matters

Moisture, temperature, pH and nutrient availability all influence how compost breaks down and how successfully plants grow.

The 6-in-1 Digital Soil Tester makes it easy to check these important conditions instantly.

Simply insert the probe into compost or soil and press the Measure button to see readings for:

• Moisture
• pH
• Fertility
• Temperature
• Sunlight
• Humidity

No more guessing.

More About Us

When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.

Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used.   However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
