SWEET CORN-TRUE GOLD originating in the Americas, the sweet corn is not as sweet as hybrid varieties but delicious just the same. They are open wind pollinated so plant in 3 x 4 blocks for best results. The male pollen falls from above the plant to the female below. So, the closer they are the better the pollination result. Can be sown directly in the soil or pot raised and planted out after germination. Can be plant every 4 to 6 weeks for a continual supply over the growing season. Plant in spring and Summer. Can be grown with beans, peas, cucumber, melons, squash but not Celery.
They need full sun, with lots of water and good organically composted soil. Plant 2.5cm deep and 25cm apart with rows 50cm apart. Soil Temp 16 to 35°C. Harvest when top silks turn brown. Cut and freeze for later use.

More About Us
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
