CUCUMBER-SPACEMASTER has a wonderful bush habit making it perfect for those with a small growing area. Spacemaster is well suited for container growing. This variety can be used in containers or hanging baskets, as well as in the vegetable garden. Dwarf 91cm hardy vines with dark green 17 to 20cm blocky fruits with a crisp sweet flavor. Produces excellent yields of very suitable for small home gardens with limited space. Vines need only 1/3 the space of standard cucumbers. Disease resistant.
Direct-sow the seed when the soil has reached at least 15°C. Keep well watered but don’t water log. Grows very fast so keep harvesting.

When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
