Raphanus sativus
RADISH-CHERRY BELLE(TREATED) has bright red skin and crisp, sweet & juicy mildly flavored white flesh. Radish Cherry Belle is early, very fast maturing, and very slow to go woody. It is great eaten fresh, in salads, or in sandwiches. Can be grown inside during the winter, flower pods are edible, will grow in the shade, and they are fun for kids to grow! Records are available to prove that cherry belle was in use, even during the Roman era, its roots can be traced all over west Asia & Europe, giving credentials to the fact that this radish has always been in use. It was an important food crop in Egypt by 2,000 BC, spread to China by about 500 BC & reached Japan around 700 AD but did not reach Britain until the mid-16th century.
Sow at regular intervals from early spring to early summer & again early autumn. Radishes grow well in most soils but prefer rich, moist free draining soils. Sow into well-cultivated soil. Sow very thinly. Thin out seedlings to 3-5cm apart.

More About Us
When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
