TOMATO-GREEN ZEBRA is a true beauty with emerald-green skin, dark green & cream vertical stripes & delicious green flesh. Ready to be eaten fresh, or, by preserving & enjoyed year-round. High yielding determinate plants produce oodles of 4-7cm fruits. The flavor is generally considered excellent & this variety often makes top ten lists for its taste & Green Zebra is not only tasty but it’s unusual. It brightens up salads & other dishes & is used heavily in salads & salsa for its mildly sweet flavor.
Sow in a good mix of soil and lightly cover, keep moist but not wet. Transplant when seedlings achieve 4-6 leaves.

When I started this journey in 2009, I found nothing existed commercially, that was reasonably priced and easy to use. There was a homemade system which I also found was not that user-friendly.
Then a friend of mine told me about a homemade method she used. However, when I tried her method, I found this also didn’t suit my needs, as it too had flaws that I considered where important. It did not keep vermin out, did not have a lockable lid and (to me) looked unsightly in the garden
